Patient Assistant

High School/GED

In this role, the Patient Assistant will assist Physicians in all aspects of patient flow while maintaining a high quality of patient care in a compassionate and humane manner. This includes, but is not limited to greeting patients, retrieving and filing charts, completing forms, preparing and recording laboratory specimens; ordering clinical, pharmaceutical and laboratory supplies.

Major responsibilities include

Taking vital signs – height, weight temperature, pulse, and blood pressure.

Informing physicians the purpose of the patient’s appointment, keeping inventory of all medical supplies. Prepare treatment rooms and set up for MSO’s commitment to providing quality health care services in a compassionate and humane manner.

To be considered for position applicant must have a Patient/Medical Assistant certificate.

Applicant must be available to work the following days/shifts at the locations listed below:

753 Classon Avenue Internal Medicine

Monday and Wednesday – 10am-7pm

Tuesday – 8am-4pm

1910 Nostrand Avenue and 296 7th avenue.

Every other Friday – 9am-5pm

Every other Saturday – 8am-4pm.

Applicant must be flexible with time.

REQUIREMENTS:

• High School Diploma or Equivalency required.
• Associate’s Degree preferred.
  
  Patient/Medical Assistant C ertificate required.
• Minimum of two years experience preferred
• Excellent communication, customer service and computer skills.
• Flexibility, highly developed interpersonal skills, and a comfort level in a fast-paced area of the hospital is key for the position.
