Part-time MONEY COUNTER 6 hrs.

This position is part-time – 6 hours per week (2.5-3 hours per day) required to work on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.

Guaranteed 3 hrs. pay per day. Hourly rate: $14.00 hr (paid for 6 hrs.)

Serves as a backup when the money counters are unavailable on other days.

Job Purpose/Function:
This part-time position performs the counting of fare box money received in the vault, prepares coin counting reports, and sets up fare box system equipment, and maintains a clean environment in the fare box work area.

Major Responsibilities:
Uses a high-speed coin sorter and bill counter, counts, bags, bands and labels fare box revenue for armored truck pickup.

Prepares daily coin counter reports, bank deposits, and daily accounting department reports.

Performs all necessary housekeeping requirements for the money room, including sweeping, dusting, and orderly arranging of money room equipment.

Observes all rules and regulations pertaining to personnel safety, security of the money room, and fare counting equipment.

Must be available for work on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.

Serves as a backup when the money counters are unavailable on other days from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.

Perform other duties assigned by the Chief Financial Administrative Officer .

Safety & Security:
Responsible for Safety & Security awareness and reporting incidents.

Education and Experience Required:
High school diploma or an equivalency (GED) certificate.

Three years prior experience using an adding machine.

Preferred experience using a currency/coin counting machine.

Physical Requirements : Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs., read, write and communicate fluently in English. Frequently required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; stoop, crouch and kneel. The member will be required to work in an office setting sitting behind a computer, as well as interact with customers.

Work Environment : There will be frequent interaction with employees and customers. The working environment is generally favorable. Lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. Work is generally performed within an office environment, with standard office equipment available.
