Part-Time (long-term) Bookkeeper and G/L Accountant

$25-30 per hour, Part-Time

Consulting Group located in downtown Manhattan, NY

We are a small consulting group servicing the Restaurant and Hospitality industry in NYC. We are seeking a part-time bookkeeper and G/L accountant to work with our team and help us manage financial activities. We estimate that the job will require 1-2 days per week.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The General Ledger Accountant will have a variety of financial responsibilities including:

-Process A/R and A/P, and compile (but not process) payroll for NY office using accounting software programs

-Oversee payables, process positive pay on banking

-Substantiates and justify expenditures and expense reports

-Works with independent audit firm on preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements.

-Prepares all aspects of general ledger.

-Communicate with management on A/R, A/P or payroll issues

-Implement, monitor and enhance accounting procedures and internal controls and assure compliance including random audits to assure all accounting transactions are appropriately authorized

-Works on special projects as requested

REQUIREMENTS

-Bachelor’s degree

-Good team player and communicator. Dedicated, reliable, and seeking to continuously improve processes and insights. Positive attitude and great work ethic.

-3+ years accounting experience with strong emphasis on A/R and A/P processing and general ledger

-3+ years QuickBooks accounting software experience required.

-Knowledge of GAAP, accounting, organizational auditing and requirements.

-Strong analytical and computer skills.

-Highly organized and driven.

-Excellent English speaking and writing proficiency

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

• Job location is downtown NYC; although flexible about working from home on occasion.
• 1 to 2 to (8-16 hours) per week.
• Position reports to President
• Compensation: Weekly. Amount based on experience.
• Time off for Holidays included
