Oracle Developer (Data Warehousing Analyst)

The Data Warehouse Administrator position will work within the Hard Rock IT department. The Data Warehouse Administrator is responsible but not limited to the support, development, requirements gathering, and maintenance of the Hard Rock Business Intelligence (BI)/Data Warehouse environments. They will assist in training, communication, and documentation of such applications in a centralized corporate IT environment.

Responsibilities

  • Support and administer key applications defined by direct supervisor.
  • Provides support to all departments in researching issues, such as reporting issues, data load issues, etc.
  • Proactively researches and locates necessary tools and processes to identify troublesome trends as they develop.
  • Backup data warehouse administrator in conducting periodic system review s to ensure they are running efficiently.
  • Anticipate user requirements and develop programs, queries, reports, etc. to assist them as necessary.
  • Proactively designs/re-evaluates report usage and processes to eliminate obstacles for end users.
  • Maintain system security by creating and maintaining user accounts along with supplying associated documentation required for security audits.
  • Gather report requirements as needed to enhance BI offering.
  • Assist in requirement gathering for ETL enhancements.
  • Develop reports as needed to enhance BI offering.
  • Support current report set by responding to end user questions, requests, and updating reports as needed.
  • Communicate regularly with supervisor to ensure priorities of projects are set and completed efficiently.
  • Support in implementations of software enhancements, upgrades, data model/metadata changes, and patch installations.
  • Provide backup support for job execution and ETL processing
  • Ensure adequate training and support documentation is correct and available.
  • Proactively researches and locates necessary tools and processes to identify troublesome trends as they develop.
  • Develop technical documentation in a clear and concise manner.
  • Ensure compliance with Hard Rock IT Policies and Procedures.

Qualifications

MINIMUM
  • University degree in Computer Science or Business Administration required; OR, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.
  • 2+ years of successful business intelligence administration experience.
  • 2+ years proven experience working with MicroStrategy OLAP and reporting tools.
  • 2+ years proven experience in delivering MicroStrategy dashboard/Scorecard solutions
  • Solid analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent technical knowledge of multiple technical disciplines.
  • Excellent technical knowledge of both Oracle and UNIX/LINUX.
  • Strong mentoring skills for teamwork and interdepartmental communications.
  • Expertise working with all parties including staff, customers, and vendors to resolve problems.
  • Proven ability to complete multiple tasks independently.
  • Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
  • Willingness to travel as deemed necessary by IT Management.
TECHNICAL SKILLS
  • Extensive writing advanced SQL, stored procedures, views, functions, triggers and scripts.
  • Experience utilizing UNIX scripts and CRON.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of advanced techniques and principles in object oriented programming languages, such as SQL, PL/SQL and Java
  • Proven knowledge developing in Oracle (latest release and one prior release).
  • Advanced experience with requirements gathering, report creation, business intelligence, and relevant methodologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with sensitive/confidential information and to handle such information as required by Federal and State regulations/policies.
  • Experience in application systems analysis, design, and programming.
  • Experience programming in various development tools including, but not limited to HTML, PERL, SQL., and Java
  • Proven knowledge of high-level architecture design, development and support in db design, data modeling, and report structures.
  • Experience supporting and troubleshooting ETL processes
