Oracle DBA/Senior Developer

The Oracle DBA/Senior Developer will report to and work with the Associate Director for Enterprise Systems to support day to day administrative computing operations the in database and enterpise systems environments. Activities include: installation, configuration, upgrade, patching, security, performance management, user management, and backup of infrastructure products (Oracle Database, Oracle Fusion Middleware, Ellucian Banner). Application and reporting development using agile methodologies. Collaborate/coordinate with various IT teams, including: DevOps, TPP Integration, and Infrastructure.

Basic Qualifications

A degree in computer science, computer information systems or engineering/mathematics and/or equivalent work experience is required

A minimum of 5 years’ experience w/ Oracle Database

A minimum of 5 years’ experience in application development w/ Oracle databases

Additional Qualifications

This position benefits from a strong knowledge of higher ed administration, Ellucian Banner, SQL, Oracle 11g DBMS, Oracle Enterprise Manager, Oracle RMAN, Fusion Middleware, PL/SQL, Oracle Forms, Java, Groovy & Grails, Hyperion SQR, Pro*COBOL, Pro*C, and shell scripting. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Demonstrated experience installing, configuring, and upgrading Oracle database and middleware servers. Demonstrated experience with database tuning and performance monitoring. Working knowledge of one scripting language (e.g. Python, Ruby, Perl). SQL Server experience a plus. Experience with cloud services such as Oracle Cloud, Amazon AWS or Microsoft Azure is a plus. Oracle certification a plus.

The successful candidate will need to be a highly experienced developer who is able to take a program/app through the full agile development cycle. Must be experienced in technical support, and technical training of both technical and non-technical staff. Must have sufficient technical, management and interpersonal skills to work independently with very little supervision in a demanding environment of a rapidly growing organization.

Administration supporting enterprise systems in a data center environment is preferred.
