World Travel Holdings is seeking a Database Developer for its Home Based Division—Dream Vacations, CruiseOne and Cruises Inc. In this role you will have design and development responsibilities on a variety of projects with emphasis on the data tier to help shape the way vacations and sold and managed. The ideal candidate will have experience writing PL/SQL code; have a strong background in Oracle, exceptional analytical and problem solving skills combined with a passion for technology.

Responsibilities:

• Follow high quality database development standards
• Lead/Participate in design discussions, prototype development
• Refactor code for latest database and hardware technologies
• Provide direct support to Application teams
• Ability to function in agile team environment using Scrum framework
• Design and Development of:
• Transactional Database Tables
• Reports
• PL/SQL package, procedure and trigger design, development and debugging
• Understand and apply database structures, theories, principles and practices
• Monitor database application performance and identify current and future potential bottle-necks

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree plus 2+ years’ experience in an Oracle development environment
• Working knowledge of Oracle 11g/Oracle 12c added capabilities and functionality
• 2+ years working with PL/SQL
• 2+ years of SQL and SQL Tuning experience
• Experience working with source control
• Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose problems quickly and communicate proposed solutions
• Knowledge and experience with Performance tuning
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to build and maintain supportive relationships within a team environment
• Strong work ethic and drive for results
• Willing and able to work the on-call rotation schedule
