Oracle Database Administrator

**This position is on an as needed basis.**

We are seeking a Oracle Database Administrator to:

• Provide combination of on‐site and remote resources as identified for each task.

• Review and assess Banner XE readiness and propose Banner 9 deployment plan. Work side‐by‐side with Project Manager to identify Banner 9 project scope.

• Provide Banner 9 technical skills to supplement skills to complete Banner 9 application upgrade:

o Banner 9 Application Upgrade Strategy to be implemented and live by 12/31/2018:

• Banner Database

• Banner Application Navigator (Identity Provider SAML integration)

• Lightweight Web Apps and APIs:

• Admin Transformed Page Modules: General, Finance,Other Banner 9 modules as determined by Customer

• Mods and Customization

o Banner 9 technical leadership, knowledge and skills to lead strategy discussion,

planning, then deployment of:

• Banner 9 server and DB sizing, procurement, install

• Banner 9 software installation

• Banner 9 developer IDE and 3rd‐party development tools

• Banner 9 directory structure for custom development

• Banner 9 git code repository and UI to integrate baseline and custom development for both Banner 9 objects and traditional Banner 8 objects

• Banner 9 custom software development

• Banner 9 migration procedures

• Banner 9 continuous integration with automated testing

o XE custom development knowledge and skills, DBA skills/experience, to supplement technical skills in these ways:

• To aid DBAs: Oracle 12c configuration, Banner 9 software installation experience, and best practices for Web Server clustering, SSO, jobs management and output.

• To aid developers: Java, Javascript and Groovy on Grails skills useful so the developer team can be led by example and mentored as the team develops the required Banner 9 developer skills

• Assess DBA and developer skills to determine training requirements

• Propose Ellucian training modules and sequencing

• Lead discussion to decisions about Banner 9 custom code strategy to enable orderly migration of Banner 8 custom objects

o Available for support during major code migrations to QA and production.

• Other technical duties associated with Banner 9 upgrade as they are identified.
