Operations Associate

What is the opportunity?

As an Operations Associate within our Corporate Actions department, you will provide superior customer service and processing support to our internal Wealth Management branches specifically related to voluntary corporate actions. You will also work with other internal RBC Operations departments on issues related to corporate actions. You will work to process paperwork and answer phone calls to answer questions and/or concerns. What will you do?

Receives and processes instructions on voluntary corporate actions.

Act as a liaison between branches, correspondents, trading desks and our custodians and transfer agents ensuring timely, accurate distribution of information on voluntary offers.

Interprets and summarizes offer information onto firm announcements by reading documents/materials provided by agents and issuers.

Identifies and researches variances in multiple internal clearing accounts and depositary reconciliation reports. Works with custodians and other broker-dealers to resolve claims and differences.

Answers questions regarding corporate action offers and allocations from various front office, correspondent, and other back-office personnel.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

High school diploma or equivalent plus two years of work-related experience.

Strong customer service skills, detailed oriented, and effective problem solving skills.

Ability to prioritize workload in a fast paced deadline driven envionment.

Ability to work independently and within a team.

Advanced experience with Microsoft Office, with an emphasis on Excel.

Nice-to-have

4 years post high school education with an emphasis on finance.

Previous experience working in dividends or reorganizations.

Knowledge of securities industry.
