Wealth and Investment Management (WIM) is one of the company’s four main divisions. WIM businesses build enduring client relationships through sound, thoughtful and objective advice. We help our clients by developing individualized plans for everything from retirement goals to business succession planning, to family legacy intentions. Services include comprehensive planning and advice, investment management, brokerage, private banking, estate planning strategies, trust, insurance and both individual and institutional retirement.

A senior Process, Risk and Control position is available in Wealth and Investment Management (WIM) within the WIM Operational Risk Management team. This is a critical position with a significant role in leading and executing the Business Process Risk Management (BPRM) program for WIM. This position will join the existing, high performing WIM BPRM team and will work to further enhance the WIM process, risk and control inventory, will perform process walkthroughs and develop workflow maps for WIM identified high risk business processes. Additionally, this person will be integral in advancing the design and implementation of an ongoing and sustainable operational risk and control capability for WIM in support of BPRM.

A successful candidate will have the ability to work with multiple partners at all levels within WIM lines of business, other Wells Fargo lines of business, and corporate level partners accountable for similar enterprise initiatives. The person in this role will work with complex business units to understand and document their most critical business processes and related risks and controls. Candidates will need to demonstrate a firm understanding of operational risk governance, WIM core business functions, and effective business process, risk and control design. This person will have the ability to see the big picture and leverage resources within and outside of WIM to ensure the success of WIM’s control assurance efforts.

Required Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience in compliance, operational risk management (includes audit, legal, credit risk, market risk, or the management of a process or business with accountability for compliance or operational risk), or a combination of both; or 6+ years of IT systems security, business process management or financial services industry experience, of which 3+ years must include direct experience in compliance, operational risk management, or a combination of both

  • A Master’s degree or higher

Other Desired Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in business process analysis and development of structured process workflow documentation utilizing Microsoft Visio
  • Experience with WIM Operational Risk and Control design and execution including an understanding of testing and monitoring oversight to provide insight into control effectiveness
  • Knowledge of Wealth and Investment Management processes (or external equivalents)
  • Ability to tailor messages based on the audience
  • Prior experience with a demonstrated understanding and working knowledge of Operational Risk Management within the Wells risk management program
  • Industry Certifications within Operational Risk Domains (e.g. CIA)
  • Experience creating and effectively facilitating presentations, updates, and training
  • Ability to influence stakeholders in a collaborative environment without direct organizational authority
  • Strong Process Management and Project Management skills
