National Channel Marketing Manager

Develop Channel objectives, strategy and plans to facilitate business unit growth
Develop joint ventures with strategic customers, that include category initiatives, promotional drivers, shopper lead discussions
Lead the category with key customers, and facilitate the agenda
Develop and champion the pricing strategy for the business unit across the product range with a solid understanding of the market dynamics as well as brand propositions and positioning within the market
Work closely with the key accounts team to develop meaningful and comprehensive 3 year customer plans that will deliver against the objectives and strategies of:
o The total business unit
o Consumer marketing
o Brand portfolio
Effectively manage Point Of Sale material development to help execute the point of purchase strategies for the different categories and channels
Effectively manage and deploy the channel managers budget to deliver against the annual objectives
Conduct regular, comprehensive and insightful channel reviews as required by the business unit
Develop the necessary competency and skill within the Channel Management function to manage the complexity of the Channels effectively and provide sufficient analytical back-up
Manage and develop the Channel team

Experience Required
A minimum of 6 years’ Trade Marketing / Channel Management or Sales Management experience within the FMCG industry of which at least 2 years’ at a Senior Manager level

Minimum Qualifications Required
It is essential that candidates hold a relevant business / commercial degree

Knowledge Required
Knowledge and experience in Trade Relations in South Africa and SADC market is essential
Successful Project Management experience across multi functional teams
Proven track record of Budget management and delivery against targets
Strong commercial sense with good business intuition
Understanding the Principles of Customer, Consumer and Shopper Insights
Analysis and meaningful insights gathered from numbers and data
