We are currently seeking a SolidWorks Drafter/Designer for our Plasti-Fab division in our Happy Valley, OR office. Products include flumes, waste water gates, manholes, shelters, skimmers, and stop logs. This position is full-time, Monday through Friday and may be subject to overtime.

Essential duties include:

• Generating SolidWorks drawings for customer approval and production parts based on sketches, customer drawings, and industry standards.
• Design of- working layouts and master drawings for composite Fiberglass Reinforced Plastics (FRP) fluid control components, assemblies and systems from specifications, sketches, models, prototype, or verbal instructions.
• Analyze specifications, sketches, engineering drawings, ideas and related design data to determine critical factors affecting design components.
• Create rough sketches utilizing SolidWorks
• Perform mathematical computations to develop original designs or adjusted/revised drawings according to specifications of client or engineering staff
• Produce detailed drawings, assemblies, and/or layouts of the final designs

The position works extensively with Engineering, Project Managers, and Production teams, including some interaction with Sales personnel.

Required Qualifications:

• At least 2 years of experience in the mechanical drafting field, or directly related area, preferable within a manufacturing industry.
• Must have intermediate to advanced knowledge of MS Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word).
• Excellent knowledge of Parametric Modeling (SolidWorks software is the preferred platform).
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Certificate in Engineering Drafting, AA in Engineering Technology, or equivalent.

Preferred experience/qualifications:

• Familiarity with industrial fluid control or related equipment preferred. Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
• Industrial steel and/or fiberglass composites knowledge is desired.
