Master Data Specialist (Part-Time)

Fender Musical Instruments Corporation (FMIC), the world’s foremost manufacturer of guitars, amplifiers and related equipment, has an immediate opening in Scottsdale, AZ for a Part-Time (25-30 hours) Master Data Specialist. As a key member of the FMIC Global Supply Chain team, this individual will be responsible for creating and maintaining large amounts of master data in SAP R/3 in a thorough and accurate manner to support the operational tasks of the company.

As our Master Data Specialist, you will work proactively with the marketing, sales, manufacturing, transportation, distribution and R&D departments, as well as with executive management, to understand business requirements and identify opportunities where supply chain optimization initiatives can add value. You’ll work collaboratively with both internal and external partners to facilitate the development and implementation of these initiatives either domestically or globally as required.

Responsibilities:

  • Create and maintain new materials, purchasing records, and bills of material across multiple plant locations with a focus on promptness and accuracy
  • Work with Cost Accounting group to ensure proper costing of materials through the validation of purchasing info record and material master settings
  • Create and maintain process documentation for above mentioned tasks
  • Works cross-functionally with other departments in troubleshooting and resolving any issues related to master data
  • Identify and correct anomalies in master data via the use of audit reports
  • Work autonomously and perform self-audits to ensure accuracy
  • Identify opportunities for process change and work cross-functionally to drive process improvements
  • Insert self into the business, providing feedback and insight related to driving business goals
  • Take initiative to look beyond the everyday business for opportunities to maximize sales and inventory potential and drive results.

Experience Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of experience in: database management, inventory management, or information systems
  • A strong working knowledge of SAP with emphasis being on material master, purchasing information records, and source lists
  • Thinks strategically; strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Makes decisions with limited information but also able to synthesize large quantities of data to drive business decisions
  • Strong communication and presentation skills: concisely presents complex information/recommendations in terms meaningful to various audiences
  • Advanced MS Excel skills required
  • Builds collaborative partnerships cross-functionally
  • Ability to influence key stakeholders
  • Strong interpersonal, communications, and influencing skills to work with other departments within the organization and to coach team members
  • Proven operational experience and change management in a fast-paced business environment, including a strong track record in meeting expectations and delivering on commitments

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations, or Finance strongly preferred or the equivalent level of work experience.
