Marketing Specialist

Location: Headquarters (full time)

Job Description : Supports the Bank’s marketing, branding, and communications strategies by assisting the Marketing Manager. Participates in the creation, development, and successful implementation of various campaigns, programs, projects, and events and in measuring and reporting on the results.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Assists with developing written concepts and ideas for advertising, marketing, business development and corporate communication materials and campaigns including a wide variety of communications for but not limited to print, TV, radio, and the Internet along with input from other internal stakeholders and the Marketing Manager.
  • Edits, proofreads, fact-checks, and coordinates production of a variety of corporate and marketing communications materials to ensure that communications are accurate, clear, and complete; correct in terms of spelling, grammar, punctuation, and editorial style; and that they maintain a consistent tone and voice.
  • Assists with developing content in accordance with our social media strategy and implements contests/techniques to drive engagement including social media advertising.
  • Coordinates and develops email communications according to strategy to engage, retain, and convert our customers, prospects and the public.
  • Assists with the writing and distribution of press releases and other public relations efforts.
  • Assists with the production of content for our corporate website and blog to assure that the content is fresh, accurate, and relevant by using web software to process changes and working with the Marketing Manager to blend copy with designs.
  • Assists with developing keyword and linking strategies as part of search engine optimization to improve website search results and boosts rankings by making revisions to website structure and copy.
  • Adapts articles, printings, etc. from offline sources to be utilized for online use with our social media pages and website.
  • Coordinates and promotes community workshops, events and seminars with appropriate business units.
  • Ensures that all print, electronic, and broadcast media is approved by the Bank’s compliance department, and that such approvals are adequately documented.
  • Conducts surveys to gather information on competitor products (banking and non-banking products), consumers, and employees. Will document findings and insights learned along the way.
  • Uses graphic design software, develops advertising and signage using agency provided guidelines for use in both internal and external communications as directed by the Marketing Manager.
  • Assists with the distribution of marketing supplies to the branches and other departments.
  • Participates in bank sponsored events and selected marketing and customer focused events.
  • Assists the Marketing Manager with the monitoring of the results of Bank marketing initiatives and sales trends using available analytics programs and other resources for channels such as social media, website/SEO, email communications, etc. and assists with preparing reports to document and communicate outcomes for internal use.
  • Orders, monitors and tracks, the Bank’s quotes, purchases, payments, scheduling, due dates, and distribution of materials ordered from outside vendors. Works closely with the Bank’s Purchasing Agent.
  • Maintains knowledge and understanding of the Bank’s personnel policies and other branch and departmental procedures applicable to appropriate completion of duties.
  • Education & Experience:

    • A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Public Relations or related field and two years’ experience working in a marketing focused position are required; experience in the banking field is preferred. In lieu of a Bachelor’s Degree, 4 years’, recent experience in a marketing agency or in a position with experience performing marketing and communications initiatives required; experience in the banking field is preferred.
    • Must be proficient in the use of social media and have some knowledge of managing social media pages for business use.
    • Must be proficient with the Microsoft Office including Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Word.
    • Prior experience with Adobe Creative Cloud software, i.e. InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop or other related design software including web related software a plus.
    • Preferred skills include knowledge of Web coding standards such as HTML and web content management systems such as WordPress and a working knowledge of analytics software such as Google Analytics.
    • Experience using email marketing platforms a plus.
    • Must have own transportation, or access to reliable transportation on short notice and valid driver’s license plus ability to maintain this throughout employment.
    • Must be available to travel to branch locations or other off-site locations when needed on short (sometimes same day) notice.
    • Must be available to work occasional evenings and weekends for shows, seminars, etc. to assist with marketing needs.
