JOB TITLE: Marketing Manager

REPORTS TO: CEO

OVERVIEW:

The Marketing Manager will be the ambassador and caretaker of the brand and will manage all marketing for the company and activities within the marketing department. The Marketing Manager will develop and implement marketing strategies for the company in line with company objectives and mission, with an emphasis on organic community engagement. The Marketing Manager will also oversee and contribute to the overall aesthetic of all digital and printed materials to ensure cohesive, authentic, top notch brand presentation across all channels of communication. All company leaders are expected to be an active part/member of the local community which includes shopping locally, socializing with local vendors and neighboring storefront employees, working out at local gyms and being present at local community events.

Essential Job Requirements & Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with executive team to identify and understand business needs and create PR & Marketing plans that directly address these goals (international, national and regional), with an emphasis on organic marketing and community engagement with strategic partners.
  • Develop/ manage strategic partnerships with like-minded brands.
  • Monitors market performance and guest feedback in cooperation with guest service.
  • Coordinates and traffics outside communications related to events, press, partnerships, etc.
  • Monitors press mentions and maintains online press portfolio.
  • Manage and maintain content/messaging and aesthetic of all digital and printed materials to ensure cohesive, authentic, top notch brand presentation. This includes, but is not limited to, private label goods, in store signage and menus, website and other web presences (Google, Yelp, etc), social media (LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, etc.), blog, etc.
  • Wholly own the design of the website (from the look & feel to photo direction to navigational functions to copy)
  • Craft content, copy, news items, and drive the photo direction of the site
  • Drive the design & content of communication pieces (promotional postcards, flyers, etc.)
  • Develop retail program – lead design/ standardization of compelling retail displays, and periodically reevaluate how the program is playing out and market-to-market comparisons
  • Create compelling in-store signage (specials, events, community investment)
  • Oversee/ maintain social media personality, including production, or oversight of production, of valuable and engaging content for social media and our website/ blog, as well as guest engagement
  • Advise on all company font, colors, formatting, and logo usage to establish brand and print consistency
  • Develop brand standards book
  • Maintain industry knowledge by attending educational workshops or classes; reviewing related publications; establishing networks.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed, including special projects.
  • Develop and execute culture fitting, organic strategies and tactics to get the word out about our company and drive qualified traffic to our front door.
  • Deploying successful marketing campaigns and own their implementation from ideation to execution.
  • Experiment with a variety of organic and paid acquisition channels – content creation, content curation, pay per click campaigns, event management, publicity, social media, lead generation campaigns, copywriting, performance analysis, etc. To be discussed in further detail.
  • Be in charge of marketing budget and allocate/invest funds wisely
  • Measure and report performance of marketing campaigns, gain insight and assess against goals
  • Proven experience in identifying target audiences and in creatively devising and leading cross-channel marketing campaigns that engage, educate and motivate, with an emphasis on organic marketing
  • Up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in online marketing and measurement
  • Provide input on pricing strategy for new and existing items that maximize profits and market share but considers guest satisfaction.
  • Help to identify and lead community investment strategy across all locations.
  • Work to standardize community outreach opportunities and give back.
  • Work with individual GMs to develop these relationships.
  • Plan and execute events (including, but not limited to, company conferences, appearances, in-store events, etc.)
  • Identify opportunities for new events to enhance the culture of the brand
  • Research demand for the company’s products and services.
  • Prepare information by collecting and reviewing information then inputting, editing, retrieving, and copying data, text, and graphics as needed; mailing correspondence as needed.

Qualifications:

  • 2 plus years of marketing or marketing equivalent position
  • High School degree or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree or equivalent certification in marketing, communication, public relations a plus
  • Preferred minimum 1 year experience in related food industry
  • Preferred background in art design and/or public relations

  • Available to work a minimum of 40 hours/week AND a minimum of 6 days/week.
  • Must be able to spend a minimum of 50% of working time standing.
  • Have the ability to walk, bend, kneel, handle, reach with arms and hands, squat, crawl, climb, stoop, and other related physical activities.
  • The ability to lift up to 40 pounds as needed.
  • Comfortable working occasionally in walk-in coolers and freezers.
  • The ability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays.
  • Safety and sanitation fundamentals
  • Strong computer skills; including Gmail, Google Drive, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word
  • Solid knowledge of website analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, NetInsight, Omniture, WebTrends)
  • Experience in setting up and optimizing Google Adwords campaigns
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced, high energy, and physically demanding environment.
  • Market knowledge of your store location and surrounding cities.
  • Strong guest reconciliation and relations.
  • Must be able to communicate clearly with our guests in the primary language of the store specific to location (Primary English).
  • Must possess hearing, visual and sensory abilities to observe and detect emergency situations; also to distinguish product, taste, texture, temperature and presentation and preparation.
  • Reliable means of transportation at all times.
  • Must be dependable, reliable and motivated.
  • This position requires up to 75% travel.
