Marketing Internship, Longhorn Network – ESPN – Fall 2017

A Day in the Life:
The Longhorn Network Marketing Intern will assist with day-to-day LHN marketing and social media efforts as a member of the Marketing team. The Intern will be based in Austin, TX and work primarily out of LHN’s office.

Responsibilities may include:
Assist with the coordination and execution of LHN promotional plans and marketing assets across platforms.

Contribute to LHN social media efforts to engage fans and grow followers.

Strive to be the in-house social media expert on emerging social tools/platforms, analytics, apps and best practices.

Develop social content plans and manage the social calendar.

Collaborate with Production and Creative Services teams on social content creation, gathering and sharing.

Provide support for event marketing activations and contests/sweepstakes/outreach initiatives.

What You Bring to the Role:
Knowledge of and passion for sports, particularly UT Sports

Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills

Strong interest in consumer marketing

Knowledge of and passion for social media

Brings creativity and fresh ideas

Basic video editing skills

Photoshop

Enrolled as a sophomore, junior or senior at the University of Texas at Austin taking at least one class at the time of application and also taking at least one class at UT Austin throughout the length of the internship.

Candidate must be in good academic standing with the University

Communication, Advertising, Marketing, Broadcasting, Journalism or related majors

Internship Eligibility:
Must be enrolled in the University of Texas at Austin taking at least one class at the time of application and also taking at least one class at UT Austin throughout the length of the internship

Must be at least 18 years of age

Must not have completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program.

Must possess unrestricted work authorization Program Dates: The approximate dates of this internship are August 21 – December 15, 2017 with the possibility to extend the internship during the Spring 2018 semester based on job performance and interest. Interns will work 20-25 hours per week and may need to provide availability on nights and weekends.

Housing: This internship is located in Austin, TX. Participants on this internship must provide their own housing.

Transportation: Must provide own transportation to/from work.

Longhorn Network (LHN) launched August 2011. LHN, a partnership between ESPN and The University of Texas, broadcasts 175 athletic events a year, plus original studio shows, analysis, and academic content.
