Marketing Intern

known international brands, present in 3.2 million retail outlets, in more than
160 countries. As we explore the tremendous opportunities ahead, we have a need
for dedicated and dynamic employees to help build our team.

As part of the 8-week paid summer
internship program, you will be given the opportunity to work as part of the Marketing
team with specific project responsibilities, access to mentors, planned social
events, and on-the-job training. You will also have the opportunity to work on
high impact projects that directly impact the business through strategic Marketing
activities.

You will work with experienced
supervisors who will provide guidance and counsel along the way. You will have the
opportunity to work with multiple departments, learn about Marketing strategies
and processes, and gain exposure to Brand Managers, ABMs, other Marketing
Agencies, and other internal departments (based on the project).

During the summer, your experience will be further
enriched through social and professional networking opportunities, including
intern activities and interaction with senior leadership and cross-functional
team members. Project work, along with recommendations, will be documented in a
formal report and/or presentation that will be presented to senior leadership
at the conclusion of the internship.

As a Marketing Intern with BIC, you will assist in projects/tasks
relevant to the development and execution of Marketing core competencies and
strategies. This may include being involved with the Brand Managers, ABMs,
other Marketing Agencies, and other internal departments.

Specific projects/tasks may include but are not limited to:

  • Develop a strong understanding
    of the Social Media landscape in which BIC competes including monitoring
    competitive activity and chatter about BIC in channels where BIC doesn’t
    have a large presence.
  • Mine online reviews of BIC
    products and competitors for learnings and insights on both BIC and
    competitive products.
  • Stationery competitive pricing
    analysis including everyday and BTS pricing. What types of discounts are competitors
    taking and how it is impacting BIC?
    Are there things BIC can do differently from an overall pricing strategy
    within segments/across segments, etc.
  • Stationery- A full analysis of
    School lists and school kits including the impact that they have on
    consumers and buying during BTS.
    Should BIC be more aggressive in this space?
  • Analyze BIC Lighter websites (we
    have a lot) and provide a recommendation on strategy going forward
  • Shaver Claims Review – a
    complete inventory of claims in the marketplace – including in-store, TV,
    print, FSI, online,
  • Review internship program as a
    whole and provide feedback in a formal presentation at end of the program
  • Participate in Intern activities and Events

To qualify for our summer internship program, the following guidelines
must be met:

  • College Degree
    currently pursuing a MBA
  • Effective
    communication and interpersonal skills (both written and verbal)
  • Strong project
    management skills
  • Self-motivated
    and able to work independently and in team environments
  • Proficient skills
    with Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and
    Outlook
  • Strong knowledge
    of various Social Media sites
  • Ability to
    multi-task and manage several projects simultaneously
  • Effective problem
    solving skills
  • Excellent
    organizational and time management skills
  • Exceptional customer
    service and follow up skills
  • Detail Oriented
