Manufacturing Engineering Manager

JOB SUMMARY

Typical tasks include, but are not limited to the following:

• Lead business unit’s efforts to improve quality, process capability & reduce turn backs
• Accountable for process improvements/development utilizing ACE operating system.
• Work with production to ensure processes enable material flow and standard work.
• Be cognizant & implement the latest developments in machining and fabrication technology.
• Successfully manage the unit’s tooling, capital and engineering labor budgets
• Collaborate with Design Engineering to ensure new products are designed for manufacture and meet process certification requirements.
• Perform part cost analysis and execute and cost reduction initiatives.
• Develop business cases for cost reduction, new work initiatives & capital improvements projects and provide leadership to execute to plan.
• Ensure processes are capable, can meet rate and adhere to procedural requirements.

Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• 10+ years of related experience required, including extensive exposure to machining and/or manufacturing.
• 3 – 5 years of Leadership experience required
• Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Leadership experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
• Position requires knowledge and experience in the implementation of process improvements initiatives; strong coaching, communication, team and customer focus; and strong interpersonal and proven leadership skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
• Demonstrate skill and success in team leadership, facilitation and coaching skills
• Working knowledge of shop practices, policies and procedures governing manufacturing engineering support requirements as well as work instruction documentation for manufacturing processes
• Must be flexible relative to department assignment and availability for off-shift work
• Demonstrate flexibility / adaptability in high stress, ambiguous assignments
• Demonstrate ability to plan and prioritize
• Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English
• Excellent computer skills

Education
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• BA/BS degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or related field

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• MA/MS degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or related field preferred
