Manufacturing Engineer (Knoxville, IA)

3M is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for the Industrial Adhesives and Tapes Division located in Knoxville, IA.
Job Summary:
The person hired for the position of Manufacturing Engineer will apply broad knowledge and extensive experience to deal with variations in work conditions and operations to solve complex and diverse problems to deliver results for EHS, quality, customer service, cost reductions and new product development.
Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Development and implementation of improvements related to safety, quality, service, and cost (productivity)
Participate and lead cross functional team as necessary to meet project plans, and objectives.
Ability to perform root cause analysis and apply systematic problem solving skills
Use Six Sigma and Lean Methodologies to improve process efficiency and waste reduction
Uses project management tools to convey objectives, time-lines, obstacles, and next steps
Understand and use statistical analysis to improve process
Proactively communicates project direction, and status to appropriate personnel
Must be available to support operations on the off-shifts
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or higher in a science or engineering discipline from an accredited university
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or higher in an engineering discipline from an accredited university
Master’s degree or higher from an accredited university
Experience in a manufacturing engineer role
Experience in leading multi-functional teams through complex projects from planning to completion
Experience in developing and managing capital budgets and project completion within time and cost projections
Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
Location: Knoxville, Iowa
Travel: May include up to 10% travel
