Manufacturing Engineer

Job Summary:
This manufacturing and process control engineer will work closely with Product Design Engineering and Quality Assurance to develop, implement and maintain the manufacturing and assembly processes for products manufactured and assembled on the line.

Responsibilities:
Reviews 3D models and prints for accuracy and manufacturability.

Work collaboratively with optical, mechanical and electrical engineers including participating in design reviews on regular basis.

Develops, implements, and manages assembly instructions for the production line. Manages assembly document revision and change control.

Works with the design engineers on Bills of Material, change management and configuration control of new and existing products.

Develops tooling, assembly instructions and line designs including Kanban replenishment methodologies to support a lean production environment.

Works with Quality Assurance to maintain process control and sampling methodologies to maintain low or zero defect on the line. Develops and controls trouble shooting methodologies and data.

Ensure a seamless transition from prototype to fully developed products to support steady state production.

Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science degree in Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering required.

Minimum of five years recent, related Manufacturing or Process Control engineering experience required. Related experience within a fast-paced manufacturing environment and product development experience preferred.Prior experience as a design engineer a plus.

Prior experience with GD&T and Design of Experiments.

Must possess excellent customer service, communication (oral and written), and time management skills.

Individual must be creative, self-motivated, and an independent thinker.

Six Sigma experience (green / black belt) a plus.

Prior project management experience with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously a plus.

Microsoft Office and 3D CAD modeling experience required, SolidWorks preferred.

Aptitude for detail with the ability to work in a team environment required.

Practical hands-on experience with equipment, machining, and fabrication a plus.

Firearm and sports optics experience along with a knowledge of the shooting sports industry strongly preferred.

Occasional travel required
