Manufacturing Engineer

We are Zootility Tools, a manufacturing company located in the east bayside area of Portland. Here’s us- http://www.zootilitytools.com/. We make multitools, bottle openers, pocket knives, and widgets of all kinds, all made in the USA. We are seeking a manufacturing engineer to manage our production systems and processes.

Responsibilities include-

– Developing new manufacturing systems and processes, including automated systems

– Optimizing processes and methods to improve efficiency

– Scheduling jobs and machine time to maximize production numbers

– Training employees on machines and processes

– Setting up and overseeing Quality programs (ISO 9001)

– Overseeing operation and maintenance of CNC mills, laser cutters, laser etchers, tumblers, presses, grinders, compressors, and various conventional machines.

– Working with vendors to source materials, parts and equipment

Applicants should have-

• 5+ years in manufacturing environment
• CNC end mill programming experience
• 2+ years Solidworks experience
• 3+ years component design experience
• Experience doing design for manufacturing (DFM)

We would prefer you also have-

• FMEA experience,
• BS Mechanical Engineering
• Laser cutting experience
• Machine maintenance/repair experience
• Six Sigma experience
• Experience in a ISO-9001 environment
• Experience sourcing and setting up new equipment
• Experience scheduling production jobs
• Experience sourcing vendors

We’re 9-5ish but hours are somewhat flexible, pay dependent upon experience.
