Here is an opportunity to join one of the biggest Iron Ore Mining company in South Africa as our Maintenance Operator Grade 2. In this position you will be assisting in the installation, repair and maintenance of a variety of less complicated plant equipment and machinery within own field of competence according to operational targets of both the section and mine.

Job Description:

We are currently seeking for a Maintenance Operator Grade 2 to join our Kumba Iron Ore family. This role will be working under the supervision and will require you to assist with the effective maintenance of mining equipment and related machinery to ensure optimal utilisation and availability toward maximising production and throughput schedules. This role will support plant and engineering personnel by ensuring that the necessary plant and equipment maintenance preparations and maintenance tasks are done in accordance with Standard Maintenance Practice (SMP) to contribute to the achievement of improving work practices and operational targets. Continuously observing and monitoring equipment/ vehicle performance against standards to identify non-conformances or deviations to the direct Supervisor to ensure defects are followed up and attended to will also be your responsibility.

This role is in the Engineering Department at a Band 10 level reporting to the Supervisor.

Qualifications:

We are looking for someone with a Grade 12, minimum 1-year operational experience in Maintenance and valid driver’s license.
