Mac Remote & Onsite Desktop Support

Small , growing San Francisco Bay Area Mac focused IT firm with 200 user install base across 20+ clients seeking short terms remote and, if possible, onsite desktop support. Here’s what’s needed:

– Thorough knowledge of macOS 10.8 to 10.12 for desktop support

– General understanding of iOS for email setup, etc.

– Very strong customer support communication skills for front facing user support

– Understanding of basic networking such as DHCP & Wifi

– Excellent documentation of all work performed

– Ability to support/troubleshoot MS Office, Apple Mail, Contacts & Calendar & 3rd party Mac software

– Basic understanding of macOS Server file sharing protocols and general concepts

– General understanding of cloud based software and file sharing (e.g. Dropbox, Box, etc.)

– 2012 or later Mac laptop w/ 8GB of RAM running 10.11 or later required

– Basic Windows desktop support skills would be a major plus

– Availability to work onsite also major plus

The right candidate will place the highest priorty on resolving issues and tracking tasks through to completion, but will also bring good nature and a sense of humor to this work. Colaboration is definitely part of the job, but an ability to work independently to research and find resolutions to techical issues is fundemental (i.e. Google Foo !).

Extensive work experience is not required, but demostrable understanding of troubleshooting (i.e. working logically to find and fix technial problems) is paramount. Apple certification of any kind would demostrate the latter. Other technical certifications would be considered too. Candidates without certification will definitely be considered, though, as we are willing to do some training.

A minimum of three references who can speak on the phone is required. This job gives access to client information, so references will be followed up on. At least one phone interview will also be required for this job; an in person interview would be helpful, but may not be required.
