Logistics Controller

This role will operate with the Life Science Supply Chain team in a fast paced and dynamic operational environment. Reporting to the Head of Logistics, the Logistics Controller will be responsible to timeously direct all customer deliveries to the correct Last-Mile Partner, supply Trem cards, and keep detailed records of these handovers; sends daily reports to the company; acts as on-site liaison between the company and DSV and highlights any issues to the company’s management. Supporting an operational division, this role is vital to our overall success and requires someone with a passion for a fast-paced team environment. The expectation is that the candidate is striving for continuous improvement and commitment to excellence.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Receiving packed customer deliveries from DSV and decides (based on pre-defined criteria) on Last-Mile Partner (LMP). Indicates the decision and service level on Embrace, fills in the number of boxes and weight of the consignment and updates the system.
  • Receives all Sigma inbound shipments and ensures correct handover, i.e. ambient deliveries to relevant LMP, deliveries for ice repack to DSV and stock products for binning to DSV. Ensures that fridge shipments are handed back timeously by DSV to ensure same day (where relevant) handover to LMP.
  • Liaises with Shipping Administrators to ensure that all Sigma shipment documents are received timeously to ensure efficient handover of customer deliveries to LMP on the correct days of the week.
  • Applies the correct colour sticker on the delivery boxes to indicate the relevant LMP.
  • Selects / prints correct trem cards and puts them in the LMP pouch.
  • Updates relevant reports with required delivery / handover data.
  • Sends relevant updated LMP reports daily to staff by 17:45.
  • Acts as on-site liaison between the company and DSV and highlights any issues to the company’s management.
  • Attends the daily Company – DSV conference call and the weekly LMP calls.
  • Completes monthly report for his area of responsibility and forwards to management by the 3rd working day of every month.
  • Maintain a well organised filing system on the Supply Chain folder.
  • Who you are:

  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office software, especially Excel.
  • Attention to dates and details and ability to multi-task with high level of accuracy maintained.
  • Able to operate in a very fast-paced operational division.
  • Strong sense of responsibility and ability to complete tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize and work independently on multiple tasks while meeting or exceeding deadlines.
  • Stakeholder management skills and ability to influence without formal authority.
  • Ability to drive change and continuous improvement.
