Linux System Administrator – PERM – Only Local Candidates to Boston area

Responsibilities

• Provide IT support for internal resources and services for the whole team
• Linux system administration including: configuration, imaging, installs, automation, and monitoring
• Manage access rights to most tools within the company
• Coordinate with the software and economic development teams to continuously refine our infrastructure and ensure we are cost-effectively using all of the tools we have at our disposal
• Collaborate with the team to recommend upgrades, expansions, and reconfigurations.
• Build deployment tools and processes that enable our team to deliver software and economic indicators
• Documents standards and operating procedures for a complex system Required Skills
• Hands on experience administrating Linux servers
• Experience monitoring systems, networks, and infrastructures
• Knowledge of configuration and infrastructure automation
• Understanding of scripting languages such as Perl, Shell, Python, Bash/sh
• Administering a database management software on Linux such as MySQL or Oracle.
• Basic network engineering and knowledge of VPN technologies
• Familiar with NTFS file system

Bonus Skills

• Experience managing Microsoft SQL Server, preferably regarding performance tuning and wait time reduction.
• Understanding of webserver publishing services
• CCNA or MCSA
