Linux Systems Administrator

A Linux Systems Administrator at Zoot manages, maintains, extends and enhances our hosting systems to ensure they are available, compliant and tuned. An administrator will be encouraged to automate any repeatable tasks and enhance visibility into our systems through improved monitoring and alerting.

An ability to triage and troubleshoot issues and an aptitude for digging deeply into how networks, Linux systems and applications interact will help you become successful in the position. A general knowledge of the operation of C, Java, Web and Scripted programs in a production environment is also beneficial.

The Linux Systems Administrator:
Configures load-balancers, clustering solutions and fault-tolerant environments for optimal uptime

Offers input and may help develop infrastructure monitoring and reporting solutions

Tunes performance and ensures high availability of infrastructure

Works to keep consistency across multiple hosting environments and datacenters

Performs regular patching to keep systems secure and supportable

Talented System Administrators will help Zoot create the next generation of rock-solid decisioning tools that support financial institutions and retailers

Required Experience

College degree in a technical field (4 year degree preferred) or, in lieu of a degree, at least 5-7 years of related work experience in an IT administration role

Minimum of 3 years of professional work experience, preferably in a technical role

Experience working in a Linux server environment
