LIFE COACH

REPORTS TO: Employment Specialist Program Director/Manager and Team Leader

DEPARTMENT/ PROGRAM: Non-Custodial Parent Employment Program

POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for coordinating and providing courtroom liaison activities, vocational assessments, job development, placement, job skills training and job maintenance, financial literacy and assisting in the establishment of responsible father hood for individuals participating in the Non-Custodial Parent Employment Program.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Provide comprehensive program intake, vocational assessment and skills training to program participants.

2. Participates in the development of individual employment plan for the participant.

3. Establishes community-based employment sites for program participants.

4. Provides individualized job coaching, supervision and vocational counseling to program participants.

5. Participates in the development of the job maintenance plan.

6. Records, analyzes and reports results of the employment process in a concise and timely fashion by using all appropriate formats.

7. Provides follow-along services to applicable program participants.

8. Provides linkage to other applicable internal and external programs.

9. Ensures that employment job sites are accessible and in compliance with safety/health standards of this agency and other accrediting agencies.

SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Facilitates the growth of NCPEP by providing individual sessions to disseminate program information.

2. Recommends and implements improvements in existing programs, which lead to a more effective employment program.

3. Adheres to company information confidentiality practices at all times.

4. Ensures and safeguards human and legal rights of consumers, their families and co-employees at all times.

5. Ensures a safe and drug-free workplace and participates in the risk management and quality improvement programs.

6. Performs all other duties assigned by the Team Leader, Program Manager, Program Director or Program Administrator.

PERFORMANCE GOALS

1. All Life Coaches will be responsible for adhering to performance in the following categories, relative to their particular program, as established in the contract between Gulf Coast Jewish Family Services DBA, Gulf Coast Community Care and Regional Workforce Board. Life Coaches shall inquire to their Team Leads as to the actual percentage attainment required in the specific program year in the following:

a. Enrollment of NCPEP eligible candidates

b. Placement

c. 90 day job retention

d. 180 day job retention

e. 3 months of child support payments

f. Upgrade in job position

g. Upgrade in wage

h. Completion of certificate training

i. Completion of Financial literacy component

ACCESS TO PROTECTED HEALTH INFORMATION:
Will be knowledgeable in and practice all Gulf Coast Jewish Family Services/Gulf Coast Community Care policies and procedures related to privacy and security practices cited in the Health Insurance Portability and Privacy Act (HIPPA) applicable to my program and position.

BASIC STANDARDS OF PERFORMANCE:
1. Attendance and punctuality are prerequisites of satisfactory performance.

2. Compliance with all company policies and procedures.

3. Familiarity with company mission and adherence to the company’s philosophy of continuity of quality service.

4. Provides quality services and maintains desired productivity level as defined by supervisor.

5. Satisfactorily completes primary and secondary duties and responsibilities of the position as required by management and supervision.

6. Meets the minimum requirements and demands of the position.

SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
1. Knowledge of job development techniques.

2. Knowledge of current supported employment techniques.

3. Ability to coordinate community resources to achieve program goals.

4. Ability to deal professionally, courteously, and efficiently with people.

5. Ability to complete paperwork in a timely fashion.

6. Must attend computer training and become familiar with company computer system(s) as required by the job.

7. GCJFCS has accepted the goal of having all employees utilize best practices consistent with the agency being a “Trauma Informed Care” workplace ( http://www.samhsa.gov/nctic/trauma-interventions ). Employees are expected to embrace related training and operations consistent with Trauma Informed Care.

EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
AA Degree in Human Services or related field, with a minimum of two years’ experience.

Three years of relevant experience may substitute for the educational requirement

Must participate in at least 10 hours of continuing education/training per year.

Must complete the Workforce Professional Certification within the time frame instituted by the Program Administrator and dictated by the Regional Workforce Board

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT/OTHER:
1. Must have reliable transportation, current Florida driver’s license and current auto insurance.

2. Ability to work under stressful conditions.

3. Ability to lift and/or carry supplies, files, etc., up to 25 lbs.

4. Know the location(s) of the facility’s fire alarms, extinguishers, exits, protective equipment and First-Aid kits. Be familiar with the facility’s evacuation routes, exposure control and disaster plans.
