As a Senior Software Engineer, you will have a significant impact on Commerce Cloud’s success by designing, building and supporting our global production ecommerce platform. You will be a member of a tight-knit, high-functioning team responsible for a platform that serves ~250 million unique visitors a month from multiple points of delivery. In this role you will leverage your strong software engineering background and knowledge of large distributed systems.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver mission critical, enterprise web applications (experience developing SaaS applications a plus)
  

• Leverage your understanding of data access patterns and object relational mapping tools such as Hibernate.
  

• Leverage your experience with caching, scalability, and concurrency technologies and best practices.
  

• Build unit tests and automation to ensure stable deliverables for continuous integration.
  

• Work with project managers and stakeholders to help refine and capture software requirements in an iterative fashion. Accurately forecast engineering effort.
  

• Work with stakeholders in developing a feature through all stages of software development lifecycle including deployment and monitoring of the feature characteristics on production.
  

• Work seamlessly as part of a multi-site, multicultural development team
  

• Work with Scrum and an Agile Development processes
  

Qualifications:

• Strong Java programming skills.
  

• Strong understanding of data structures and algorithms.
  

• Good understanding of Java concepts and technologies, IoC (e.g. Spring, Google Guice), Java EE web standards, web containers (Apache Tomcat), Spring framework (Boot, MVC, Security), clustering and communication (e.g. Hazelcast, Hystix), REST, Elasticsearch, Java Security.
  

• Strong understanding of databases (SQL and NoSQL).
  

• Proficiency developing automated unit and integration tests and continuous integration.
  

• Proficiency in scripting languages.
  

• Self-motivated, driven to achieve committed milestones.
  

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  

• Excellent verbal and written communication.
  

• Ability to work seamlessly as part of a multi-location, multi-cultural development team.
  

• Ability to work with product managers and stakeholders to help capture and refine software requirements in an Agile environment.
  

• BS or MS degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
  

• 7+ years professional Java development experience.
  

Plusses would be for the working knowledge in the following areas:

• Cloud and virtualization technologies and components from leading vendors (e.g. AWS, GCE, GAE, Azure, Docker, Kubernetes, VirtualBox).
  

• Developing SaaS applications and operating complex distributed systems.
