Junior NC Programmer/Engineering Tech

SUMMARY

Junior Engineering Tech have the responsibility for providing engineering support and other related documentation. The primary role includes hands on Aerospace Manufacturing NC Programming, coordinating task priorities with lead, training others in CATIA V5 usage/procedures and coordinating with Leads, Tooling Leads and Project Management on engineering task due dates, priorities, and expectations on each drawing. Key areas of accountability include; providing approved NC Programs to the Leads on or before scheduled due dates, accurate drawing output and maintaining quality expectations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Implement and train in the use of the client’s engineering data and the quality plan procedures relating to engineering support.
  • Knowledge of aerospace manufacturing, machining, assembly and quality techniques.
  • Able to work independently and with designers and engineers on various projects.
  • Attend project reviews and related project meetings (as requested).
  • Self-check and correct all work prior to submitting to Leads for checking.
  • Insure drafting style consistency between drawings as per client’s drafting standards.
  • Verify the nominal fits of all parts as they are detailed from an overall layout.
  • Seek out clarity and advice from other Engineers as needed to insure design questions are answered up front.
  • Plot and manage files, original plots, and tooling programs per company standards and manage the electronic file backups.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to insure the success of projects, individuals, and the company.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Certificate of Completion of CATIA Drafting Program at College or Tech. School (will consider current students with recommendation of Instructor if completing at the end of current semester).
  • 1-3 years’ experience in aerospace manufacturing field.
  • Machining experience a plus
  • Good working knowledge of dimensioning and geometric tolerances.
  • Strong organization and self-motivation skills are required.
  • Familiarity with machining and assembly processes.
  • Competent with computer software such as, CATIA V5, Solid Modeling,
  • Microsoft office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, MS Project.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Certificate of Completion of CATIA Prismatic, Surface Machine & Wireframe Program at College or Tech are a plus. (will consider current students with recommendation of Instructor if completing at the end of current semester).
