Our Opportunity:

The FI-FMS technology team is an assiduous and collaborative team that develops and maintains several mission-critical trading applications at Schwab. Our applications include: Schwab Bond Source (SBS), Schwab’s fixed income trading system; Fix Messaging Service (FMS); and trade correction applications (Jupiter). SBS provides a comprehensive real-time Fixed Income trading platform to Schwab’s internal and external clients (schwab.com, Schwab Advisor Center); as well as external dealers and regulatory agency systems. FMS is the firm’s FIX application. FMS provides trading venue connections, Advisory Service client connections to Schwab, and regularity reporting. Jupiter is the firm’s mass trade correction application

We are looking for a talented entry level Java developer to join our FI-FMS (Fixed Income-Fixed Messaging Service) team. This individual should have a passion for user experience, leading-edge interaction and visualizations; as well as a team player with strong collaborative qualities.

What you’ll do:

As a member of our development team you will participate in the design and implementation of large, complex, mission critical web trading applications using Java / J2EE and modern technologies. You will also take part in various software engineering projects. Utilizing advanced development patterns and component-based architecture. This will be accomplished through actively collaborating with the team in ongoing development; including design, development, review, integration, test, and deployment activities. Also, providing project maintenance and production support activities. Finally, you should be comfortable in a fast-paced development environment that embraces the latest technologies and techniques, while focusing on providing the best experience for our business partners and clients.

What you have:

• BS computer science / information technology / engineering
• In-depth understanding of Object-Oriented Design (OOD)
• Working knowledge on Java/J2EE technologies
• Able to develop Web User Interface Designs in accordance with Software Requirements
• Knowledge of the Agile Software Development Process
• Knowledge of AngularJS and JavaScript
• Understanding of Web User Interface Design/Interaction
• Familiarity with the Software Development Process
• Excellent Verbal Communication with team members and business partners.
• Ability to collaborate and work well within a team.
