Junior Java Developer

Syntel is hiring Entry Level or Junior Java Developers to work with their major Financial & Banking project to be based at Phoenix, AZ

Brief role expectations:

Java – (2 years + experience)

Good knowledge on Core JAVA.
Understanding of object-oriented development

Understand how Websphere will be uplifted to Redhat openshift (JBOSS) code.

Server Side Settings for JBOSS vs Websphere

Modify code to be able to read data from a virtual file system which is used in openshift servers.

Understand how java web-applications work.

Good knowledge of spring 3, servlets, JSP

Ability to understand rest / soap services.

Ability to generate stubs from WSDL / scheme files

Working knowledge of Maven

Basic knowledge of Angular.

Be able to understand large code base.

Be able to debug code in multiple environments.

Ability to write clean and understandable code with proper documentation.

Basic knowledge of PaaS (Platform as a service)

Basic knowledge of CI-CD (Continuous integration and Continuous deployment)

Basic understanding of Linux

Ability to use shell prompt, and basic UNIX commands

Good understanding of GIT Version Control

Ability to follow your peers / leaders directions.

Be able to write quick proof of concepts before implementing new features fully.

Ability to work in a team environment.

Ability to create good documentation.

Ability to get instructions from documentation.

Be able to do a code walkthrough / review with SME

Ability to explain features / fixes to testers

Ability to work in a fast paced environment

Qualifications include:

Bachelors, or Master’s Degree in Computer Science or similar field of study
Excellent verbal communication and written, with active listening and summarization skills.
