Junior Dev Ops Engineer

The Junior Development Operations Engineer is responsible for assisting with the continuous integration and development infrastructure for enterprise-wide application development, APIs, and systems integrations.

The primary focus of this position is on improving the quality and efficiency of the development and QA teams through automation and monitoring of applications and deployments throughout the multi-environment development lifecycle. The Jr Dev Ops Engineer reports
to the Manager, Cloud Infrastructure.

• Develop and maintain infrastructure and processes for application/API/service development, particularly in managing and maintaining APIs and related services.

• Develop and maintain internal tools to improve developer and QA workflow.

• Assist Development and Operations teams in deployment and troubleshooting system issues in all environments.

• Improve the reliability, scalability, and performance of cloud-based systems and processes.

• Assist in administration of CI/build servers and related systems.

• Expand continuous integration and deployment efforts.

• Help automate existing development processes and maintenance where possible.

• Additional responsibilities as assigned by manager.

Experience and Required Qualifications

• Familiarity with development and deployment capabilities in Amazon Web Services (esp. API Gateway, CloudFormation/OpsWorks, Beanstalk, etc.) or similar Service Platforms

• Some experience with Atlassian Bamboo, Jenkins CI, or comparable build servers is required; Knowledge of Maven or Gradle and associated technologies like Artifactory/Nexus preferred

• Some experience administering Windows and/or Linux

• Some familiarity with source control repositories, preferably Git

• Exposure to scripting or application development with at least two of the following (or similar): Java, JavaScript, Python, NodeJS, PowerShell, shell scripting

• Thrives in a highly collaborative, ever-changing work environment

• Excellent oral and written communication skills

• Available for occasional on-call rotations
