Junior DBA (SQL/Mongo)

Mediaocean is seeking an entry level DBA to join our team in New York. Our ideal candidate will be supporting our database applications and data integration solutions. The Jr DBA will be part the global DBA team who support present/future business applications within a DevOps environment. Applicants should have a strong interest in SQL Server & Mongo, and be proficient with Linux/Windows. Applicants will be supporting scheduled ETL & Reporting processes, and could be involved with Oracle, MySQL & Redshift.

Responsibilities will include:

• Monitor & maintain existing systems & alerts
• Monitor & maintain Jira Helpdesk tickets
• Maintain database application and data integration solutions
• Create and update documentation
• Participate in the ongoing support/training of developed applications
• Respond appropriately to emergency technical support situations and produce quick and effective solutions to business problems
• Work with database personnel to design physical and logical databases to support present/future business applications
• Participate in an on-call rotation, after-hours schedule, & have flexible hours
• Other duties as defined by Managers

• 0-1 years of experience
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field
• Strong interest in a career working with multiple Database platforms, ETL, & Reporting
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, & ability to work with other DBA’s & Development
• Some technical aptitude, for example scripting or programming, or RDMS
• An interest in learning more about software and development
• Flexible hours, and On-call rotation, required
