Junior Accountant

Duties:

• Accounts Payable:
• Prioritize invoice payments according to cash flow and payment terms
• Match invoices to checks, obtain all signatures for checks and distribute checks accordingly
• Review all invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment
• Investigate and resolve invoice discrepancies
• Correspond with vendors and respond to inquiries, such as payment status
• Reconcile vendor statements, research and correct discrepancies
• Post various house bills into system
• Accounts Receivable:
• Deposit customer payments and post deposits into system
• Monitor customer accounts to ensure payments are up to date
• Correspond with customers and respond to inquiries, such as customer statements, open invoices
• Other Accounting Matters:
• Assist in month-end closing
• Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practices
• Posting and processing journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded
• Audit monthly expense reports and post expenses in system
• Meet with controller on a weekly basis to discuss cash flow
• Perform analysis of new customer credit applications and obtain credit references
• Vendor 1099 documentation maintenance
• Process customer credits and vendor credits
• Complete new vendor credit applications
• inventory management
• knowledge of cost accounting

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree
• 3 years of public or private industry accounting experience
• Detail oriented and proven organizational skills

Salary: $50,000.00 to $60,000.00 /year
