JR Web Developer

The Zippertubing Co. is seeking a Junior Web Developer to assist the web and marketing departments in the development and management of a new custom framework and website. Primary functions of this role will include, but are not limited to: the design and implementation of individual pages, up to and including complete web design and front end implementation of designed ideas, following flowcharts and diagrams, incorporating modern web design techniques using PHP, HTML5, CSS3 and jQuery, coding precise, pixel-perfect design elements and email campaigns, maintaining MySQL and MsSQL databases structures, and more. The Junior Web Developer will be responsible for ensuring that the company is continually perceived as an authority in the industry through the creation and maintenance of innovative, high quality digital material and content. The ideal candidate for this role should be comfortable taking part in the many roles that are needed from the company. This candidate must be willing to expand their current understanding of not only their position, but also the products we manufacture and market.

Travel

Very minimal travel is anticipated for this position. The company has two locations in Arizona, one in Tempe and one in Chandler. The individual who receives this position will report to the Chandler facility daily.

Physical Demands/ Environment

This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. The position involves sitting, walking, talking, and hearing throughout a 9 hour shift. The employee is occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must have the ability to frequently lift and move up to 15 pounds, and occasionally lift and move up to 40 pounds. At times the employee may be exposed to airborne particulates, moving mechanical parts and vibrations from the production floor.

Required Experience & Skills

An applicant *must* possess the following skills in order to be considered.

• Strong design abilities, using industry standard design tools such as Photoshop and Illustrator
• MySQL and MsSQL database management experience
• HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript and jQuery knowledge
• Bootstrap and similar frameworks
• Coding using industry standard development tools such as Dreamweaver
• Email campaign design and management knowledge
• Strong hand-coding abilities
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to think analytically, which includes effective problem-solving
• Work in a constantly-evolving team atmosphere
• Experience coding with Object-Oriented PHP
• Experience with third-party API integration

Preferred Experience & Skills

An Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Web Design, Development, or similar discipline is preferred , but equivalent experience is equally weighed.

• 2+ years as a designer or developer
• SOAP and/or XML is a plus
• Knowledge of Git for version control and deployment
• An understanding of the WordPress development process
• Experience with relational table design and implementation
• Experience with SCRUM/Agile methodology
• Basic understanding of C#
