We have an opening for a Jr. Designer. This position reports to a Design Team Leader and responsibilities include:

• Develop new designs/products with supervision
• Understand quality check techniques and criteria for samples and orders with supervision
• Match yarn samples to fabrics and other yarn samples
• Produce duplicate samples and recolor existing patterns
• Produce and manage jobs of simple complexity with supervision

Abilities:

Meet project deadlines

Proficient at color matching and understand matching tolerances

Successfully interpret sample requests that require adjustments (color changes, design changes, etc) to existing samples with supervision

Display understanding of inspection criteria and quality requirements with supervision

Able to read blueprints and floor plans

Utilize custom operating software, Visual CADD and Photoshop effectively to complete assigned tasks

Handle basic quality control checks with supervision

Effective verbal and written communication with customers and team members at all levels within the organization

Multi-task in a fast paced environment

Limitations or restrictions:

• All samples and projects are reviewed by supervisor or peer prior to going into production
• All assigned orders are reviewed by supervisor before going into production
• This is an entry level position in the design department
• Not allergic to wool

Requirements:

Educational Level: Bachelor’s Degree in design-related field

Portfolio: Examples of current or prior design work

Color perception: Must have accurate color perception

FLSA Status: Salaried exempt

Preferred

Experience: Experience with textile design

CAD and Adobe creative suite
