Senior Middleware Administrator

Seeking technical expert in Middleware (Weblogic and Jboss) administration.

Education : 4-yr College Degree preferably in Information Systems or Computer Science

Skills Required :

• Advanced level JBoss EAP 6.x/7.x administration (installation, clustering, performance tuning and troubleshooting)

• Mid to advanced level WebLogic 10/12c administration (installation, clustering, performance tuning and troubleshooting)

• Strong Unix shell scripting

• Good understanding of J2EE technologies

• Knowledge of Apache Webserver

• Knowledge F5 or similar load balancing technology and concepts

• Strong written and verbal skills

• Strong interpersonal skills

Skills Preferred:

* Mid to advanced level Red Hat Linux 6/7 administration

* Mid to advanced level Solaris 10/11 administration

* Experience in securing applications using certificates

* Experience with Ticket Management software like HP Service Manager or Remedy

* Understanding of Enterprise Storage Area Network (SAN) server side concepts

* CA/Wily Introscope

* Nagios

* VMWare virtualization of Red Hat Linux

* Solaris Zones

Experience required:

* 4+ years of JBoss EAP administration

* 3+ years of WebLogic

* 3+ years of Unix shell scripting experience

The successful candidate will become a member of the Distributed Systems: Open Enterprise Services group within Information Technology Department.

Candidate:

• Will be expected to serve as a team member in the Open Enterprise Services (OES) Team in a complex, mission-critical computing environment supporting primarily JBoss EAP and WebLogic application servers. With some Solaris and Linux administration. The work associated with this position will be divided evenly between new projects and support activities.

• Must be able to work in a fast-paced 24×7 environment with on-call duties and must possess the ability to work with a diverse, high-performance team.

• Will be expected to interface with customers, business partners, third-party suppliers/vendors, internal IT application programmers, and internal business contacts for both new development and problem determination/resolution.

• Will assist in designing, implementing, and supporting the corporate Linux/Solaris architecture as required for installed and proposed systems.

• Will act as a resource as needed during critical system outages to provide management with business impact information necessary to make decisions.

• Will assure the highest levels of stability, integrity, reliability, security, and availability of the OES environment under his/her responsibility.

• Will adhere to the established change control policies and prescribed procedures.

• Will produce documentation and procedures regarding the proper use and operation of the corporate OES infrastructure.

• Will correct reported problems with software and communication interfaces under his/her responsibility.

• Will utilize a problem management tool to track open tickets and follow up to resolution and closure.

• Will execute special projects or other related duties as required.

• Must be sensitive when introducing new technologies to established groups and products but have the conviction to push through technologies that are in the best interests of the company.
