Summary:

Analysis, design, development, testing, and documentation on new and/or enhancements to existing applications, using Java and TIBCO technology. Execute all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle. Ensure tasks conform to specifications/processes and standardized best practices.

Essential Functions:

• Design new software by applying techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis that satisfies the objectives stated in business requirements.
• Follow Company standardized processes, that deliver improved software solutions.
• Evaluate and select process and logic patterns, programming language constructs, data storage methods, and operating environment interfaces that effectively satisfy business requirements and quantifiable measures.
• Develop appropriate programs (using Java and TIBCO ) and systems documentation according to established department standards.
• Collaborate with architects, systems engineers, project managers, systems administrators, and operations analysts to deploy and implement solutions, and troubleshoot technical issues.
• Deploy and implement fully tested software XPO standardized processes that deliver improved software solutions.
• Lead the development team in the deployment/implementation of software solutions.
• Introduce new industry standards and techniques that deliver improved software solutions. Evaluate identified technologies for inclusion in developed software solutions.
• Certify the proper functioning and performance of software components using repeatable, reproducible, and reportable software testing methodologies.
• Review software changes completed by junior team members
• Support software infrastructure by identifying and diagnosing software failures.
• Install and upgrade software development tools.
• Provide 24/7 on-call rotational support of software on a rotational basis

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Bachelor’s degree in CS, MIS, or technical area. Will consider any suitable equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• 7+ years of experience in IT systems design and development preferably in medium to large corporate environments, including 5+ years’ experience with Enterprise adopted toolset
• Experience in TIBCO suite of Products (Business Works, Business Events)
• Expert-level experience in Java/J2EE technologies(Struts, JSP, EJB, JDBC, JSF, Spring Framework, and Axis); creating Web Services (SOAP and Restful); data marshalling, data transformation, and data representation technologies
• SQL/Relational Database knowledge
• Experience developing Responsive/Adaptive Design solutions
• Experience using RAD (RAD is preferred. Will consider other equivalent IDEs)
• Experience with AngularJS desirable
• Knowledge of IT software development life cycle methodologies and processes
• Demonstrated analytical capabilities
• Knowledge of IT software development life cycle methodologies and processes
• Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills in customer settings and with internal management and project teams
• Demonstrated ability to participate effectively in a dynamic self-directed team environment
• Demonstrated ability to communicate business needs to technical people and to communicate and simplify complex technical information for non-technical people
• Knowledge of transportation industries is a plus
