Java Developer in Omaha

POSITION IS IN OMAHA, NE

Immediate Openings! The Java Developer will design, modify, develop, and implement software programming applications. The position will also conduct unit testing and participate in code review, system test process through code and test review, and analysis and remediation of code review and test defects.

Summary of essential job functions:

Design, develop, enhance, debug, and implement software. Troubleshoot production problems related to software applications.

Researches unit test, build, and coordinate the conversion and/or integration of new products based on customer requirements. Design and develop new software products or major enhancements to existing software.

Address problems of systems integration, compatibility, and multiple platforms.

Consult with project team and end users to identify application requirements.

Assist in the evaluation and recommendation of application software packages, application integration and testing tools.

Resolve problems with software and respond to suggestions for improvements and enhancements.

Act as team leader on projects.

Instruct, assign, direct, and check the work of other software developers on development team.

Participate in development of software user manuals.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education Requirements/Years of Experience: Bachelor’s degree in an computer science/technical discipline from an accredited college with 3-5 years of software development experience; or a Masters degree with 2 years software development experience.

Skills: Knowledge of software standard concepts, best practices and procedures. Has demonstrated proficiency and experience in developing and maintaining software applications and computer systems. Has working experience: with product(s) and components used within NIDS II and experience providing software development experience of complex systems employing one or more of the following technologies, tools, or products:

Coding Standards, Design Patterns, Object-Oriented Design, Web Services, C, C++, Java, Java EE, SQL, XML, XSD, Red Hat Linux Server, VMware, Web Mapping Service, Unix Shell Scripting, Solaris, Mavern, Subversion

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Full time position

Secret security clearance; US citizenship is required by regulation and contract.

Schedule Requirements: This position shall require individual to be available during normal working hours from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Pacific Time (PT) but is subject to change due to business needs.

Physical Requirements: This position primarily consists of working indoors in an office environment at the customer’s location. Essential functions: The employee may be required to: sit, walk, or stand for extended periods, talk and hear with the ability to communicate, detect, converse with, discern, convey, express oneself, exchange information, to use the hands and fingers to operate, activate, use, prepare, inspect, place, or position, and see to detect, determine, perceive, identify, recognize, judge, observe, inspect, estimate, and assess. Lift up to 50 lbs.

Travel Requirements: No travel requirement at this time. If required it would less than 10%.
