We Offer

We are looking for a Java Developer to sit within the Front Office development team supporting the Equity Derivatives business

In this role you will plan, design, analyze, develop, code, debug, and document applications to satisfy business requirements for large projects. You are comfortable communicating with partners of varying levels. You are able to work independently, enjoy a dynamic environment, have exceptionally good verbal and written communication skills.

Key responsibilities:

  • You will work with business partners, other technology teams to deliver solution, in-line with the strategic end-state and overarching business requirements
  • Develop, test, design, manage and support high quality systems
  • Develop solid relationships with business users through understanding the challenges that they face, then build systems that will allow them to overcome them
  • Maintain a solid focus on quality
  • Be willing and able to adapt to changes in priorities and requirement
  • Remain open and alert to new technology opportunities

You Offer

Essential:

  • 5 plus years of experience programming in Java
  • Experience with Apache, Angular and Scala programming
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
  • A passion for technology and innovation

Desirable:

  • An undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics or Engineering
  • Experience with Equity Derivatives
  • Knowledge or experience of agile development (e.g. XP, SCRUM, Kanban)
  • Experience developing and testing using an Object Oriented language
  • Familiarity with functional programming concepts/experience
  • Knowledge and experience of derivative valuation and financial modeling
  • The ability to develop intuitive and attractive user interfaces which improve user experience and client relationship skills with a good customer service attitude
