Title: Java Engineer

Location: Jersey City, NJ (Exchange Place) in July client is moving to NYC (new location)

Duration: Contract to Hire

Rate: DOE

Tasks / Responsibilities:

• Participate in the review of Business Requirements and contribute materially to the development of functional design
• Development of source code, including descriptions, for all Software Components in accordance with the Detailed Software Requirements Specification, the functional design and technical design documents.
• Verifies the developed source code by reviews (4-eyes principle). Software review findings must be resolved.
• Integrates software components following the integration strategy.
• Verifies integrated software components by unit and integrated software testing according to the software test plan. Software test findings must be resolved.
• Ensures that all code changes end up in Change Items (CIs) Develops routines to deploy CIs to the target environments.
• Provides Release Deployments on non Production Management controlled environments
• Capture Build and Deployment notes, develop Software Product Deployment & Operating Instructions.
• Checks consistency of documents with the respective Software Product Release.
• Manages maintenance of applications and performs technical change requests scheduled according to Release Management processes.
• Measures and analyzes code for quality.
• Collaborates with Functional Analysts and technical Specialists to complete work, as required
• IT Solution Architecture, design, and delivery in large mission critical applications

Lead software development team as Solution Architect and/or development lead Experience | Exposure (Recommended) :

• 2+ years of experience with J2EEE, Hands on experience in Java 8
• Hadoop ecosystem – Java MapReduce, HBASE/HIVE/Impala, Ooozy, Pig, Sqoop, and others, Apache Spark/SOLR, Morphlines, Elastic Search
• Experience with XML/ XSLT/ JSON /REST
• Familiarity with GWT/ HTML5/Sencha GXT/ Angular JS, will have opportunity to learn on-the-job
• Familiarity with Spring Framework, will have opportunity to learn on-the-job
• Ability to work in virtual teams and in matrix organizations
• Familiarity with SDLC tools such as JIRA, Client ALM, GIT/SVN, Team City/ Udeploy , Automated Performance and Regression tools
• Experience of working in Agile Methodology

Education | Certification (Recommended):

• Degree from an accredited college or university with a concentration in Computer Science or an IT-related discipline (or equivalent)
• Relevant certifications
