We are currently seeking talented IT professionals in Application Development to design and implement new software applications from the ground up, redesign existing legacy systems, and provide mission critical production application support and maintenance.

Java Backend Developer

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing core system design, evaluating and proving platform components, and delivering working prototypes and frameworks for delivery teams to build upon. This will require developing highly scalable components in a distributed environment.

Qualifications:

• 8+ years of software engineering experience with Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, software engineering, or other technical discipline, or equivalent work experience.
• Demonstrated substantial experience with object oriented design and programming using Java.
• Software development experience with exposure to integration.
• Experience with REST and SOAP web services.
• Programming experience with Java, JavaScript, or Groovy.
• Substantial experience with Agile or other rapid application development methods.
• Demonstrated experience with continuous integration tools such as Jenkins.
• Demonstrated experience with automated build, test driven development methodology and test frameworks.
• A proven hunger to learn new technologies and translate them into working software.

Required Skills:

• Candidate must have experience in Java/J2EE application development on Linux/Unix platforms
• Expertise in Java Frameworks (Spring or Struts 2), JSP, JavaScript, AJAX, JSON, Oracle, JDBC, WebLogic Server, Eclipse IDE
• Experience with BI tools such as OBIEE or Tableau preferred but not required
• Strong understanding of SQL including the ability to understand existing complex queries or develop as new
• Position requires the ability to effectively manage competing priorities
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Working as part of a team as well as independently
• Ability to identify issues to leads and/or management while providing possible solutions
• Experience with cloud services platform such as AWS is preferred.
