Responsibilities:
Systems – Intern

This position will work with cutting-edge technologies, to develop and support robust applications and platforms in our data centers across the country.

  • Work in an environment with over 1000 servers and appliances
  • Use a variety of scripting languages, including Bash, Perl, and Python
  • Deploy both physical and virtualized servers across multiple data centers in the US
  • Troubleshoot various aspects of the infrastructure including applications, systems, firewalls, and network devices
  • Utilize monitoring, configuration management, and central logging infrastructure
  • Maintain highly-available platforms that serve DNS, DHCP, VOIP, authentication services, and more to TDS customers
  • Work with a variety of network platforms and configurations
  • Contribute ideas and designs to project work

Qualifications:
Required Qualifications

  • 1+ semester of Computer Science or Engineering (must have received passing grade)
  • 1+ semester coursework done in a Unix or LINUX environment (must have received passing grade)

Other Qualifications

  • Knowledge of scripting languages
  • Knowledge tcp/ip networking
  • Motivated and driven to gain new knowledge
  • Passionate about open source technologies
