We are one of the fastest-growing Business Class Unified Communications firms in the world and are currently looking an IT Support Specialist to lead the development and support of IT Infrastructure in an open source, Java stack environment.

The IT Support Specialist is responsible for the maintenance and continual improvement of technology, telecommunications systems, networks and computers to ensure full and productive use of corporate technology. To accomplish these tasks, the IT Support Specialist must work closely with internal departments and external vendors for successful deployments and implementation. You will serve as a point of escalation for complex issues in the areas of networking, telecommunications, server, and desktop support encountered by the organization.

The experience you bring to us, your management skills, and the work you will do integrating our state-of-the-art UCaaS system can make this an exciting and rewarding opportunity.

Your Role:
Provide hands on support for our IT Infrastructure and associated functions. Time allocations will be approximately:

User and help desk support – 25%

Systems and IT implementation – 50%

Planning and design – 25%

This is a single contributor role with no direct reports initially.

Identify, review and evaluate products and assist in recommendations of technologies to the Director of Infrastructure for hardware or software acquisition that will improve corporate productivity and effectiveness.

Responsible for advancing and displaying the unified communication strategies and infrastructure that align with the Star2Star Communication platforms

Manage the day-to-day operations and strategic application of our real-time corporate unified communication platforms

Ensure timely and thorough completion or resolution of high-profile and/or time-sensitive projects and issues, as self-identified and as instructed by the Director of Infrastructure.

Serve as point of escalation in troubleshooting, changes, and enhancements to infrastructure, network and security, servers, and desktop systems

Maintain Corporate IT asset system and conduct periodic inventory of all IT assets for compliance and control

Your Background:
Minimum of 4 years IT System Administration or IT Help Desk management experience

Minimum of 1 year in a managerial role

Proven leadership ability and experience delegating tasks to team members

Proven ability to report to managers and end users as an effective team member

Minimum of 3+ years solid MAC / Linux troubleshooting experience

Expertise diagnosing and fixing enterprise account and user connectivity issues

Experience supporting conference room video and audio solutions

Understanding of telephony/VoIP and underlying basics; phone system support

Experience in administering multiple telecommunication systems in multi-site environments

Ability to independently evaluate, analyze, and develop requirements for unified communication platforms
