IT Network/Systems Administrator

Position Overview: The IT Administrator will play a key role to ensure network availability to all Viscira users. S/he will be responsible to install, configure, support and monitor the Company’s network, test website performance, and perform maintenance and upgrades as needed.

S/he will report directly to the Director of Information Technology.

General Responsibilities:

• Provide high-availability support for web servers, application servers and network infrastructure.
• Manage and administrator network infrastructure ensuring high availability.
• End-to-end monitoring of the systems for both performance and availability.
• Maintain technical documentation that supports all areas of the web tier environment.
• Install, configure, and maintain services such as Apache, Nginx, MySQL, SQL, HAProxy, Tomcat and IIS.
• Ability to monitor system configuration, conduct system upgrades, install patches, and build new servers.
• Manage and support existing virtualized environments.
• Manage and support various day-to-day hardware assets.
• Provide end-user HW/SW (local and remote) support.
• Perform critical infrastructure backups and restoration.
• Design, develop and scale dynamic infrastructure while supporting existing ones.
• Automating common IT task and virtual machine provisioning.
• Support and maintain SAN and storage systems.
• Understanding the systems and storage architecture to make recommendations and changes that will provide enhancements.
• Monitoring and trending with Nagios and cacti to determine both system performance and availability
• Other responsibilities and projects as assigned.

Required Qualifications, Skills & Abilities :

• 3+ years of Networking experience including Cisco ASA firewall systems.
• 3+ years of Linux server administration experience.
• 3+ years of Windows server administration experience.
• 3+ years of experience with Apache, Nginx, Tomcat, ,HAproyx, & IIS 8.x.
• 3+ years of experience managing virtual servers XenServer / VMware.
• Solid understanding of SANStorage management and configuration.

• Familiar with networking concepts (VOiP, VLAN, Load balancers, core-switches, router, IPSEC VPN, etc).
• Ability to script common IT task with scripting languages such as Bash, Perl, and Python.
• Demonstrated ability to diagnose complex application issues and provide quick and accurate solutions within a collaborative environment.
• Taking ownership of issues from identification through resolution.
• Ability to quickly learn and implement unfamiliar technologie
• Demonstrate flexibility in day to day work operation.
• High level of attention to detail with excellent organizational/project management skills and a proven ability to multi-task and adhere to timelines.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, and dynamic environment, with a wide variety of professional staff.
• Must be proactive, able to perform well under pressure, and nimble—able to problem solve and provide alternative solutions as changes arise during a project, while still adhering to timeline, scope and budget constraints.
• Must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot and problem solve to ensure customer satisfaction.

Desired Skills and Experience :

• At least two entry level certifications (A+, Net+, MCP, etc.). Microsoft certifications a plus. AA degree, or equivalent.
• Experience working within a leading interactive advertising agency or web development firm.
• Experience or knowledge of the pharmaceutical, medical device, biotech or general healthcare industries.
• Previous success working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
