Position Overview

As an IT Field Technician, you’ll perform on-site or in-house servicing, repair and/or installation of company product(s) including system hardware and software, PC’s, and networking/wireless networking. Provides technical support to customers on operational or maintenance aspects of system equipment. Serves as customer contact on technical and service related problems. Diagnoses mechanical, hardware, software and systems failures, using established procedures. Determines most cost effective repair/resolution to minimize customer downtime. Prepares reports for analysis of product failure trends and serviceability issues.

* Position is 90 day contract to hire.

What you’ll do at Insight:

  • Performs general maintenance tasks, troubleshoots, and repairs computer systems, servers, storage systems and peripheral equipment
  • Troubleshoots general problems under the direction of a higher level of support.
  • Escalates problems and issues to a higher level of support. This includes service that exceeds response time, repair time, lack of parts, or any other issue that could impact customer satisfaction
  • Investigates system problems and provides solutions using specific product knowledge, system utilities, and operating environment
  • Processes timely and accurate information to ensure compliance with warranty requirements of vendors.
  • Follows established process and procedures to plan, install, test, and implement computer system hardware or software technologies
  • Represents Insight in a professional and businesslike manner and communicates effectively with customers and associates

What you’ll need to join Insight:

  • Must have A+ Certification and 3 to 5 years of experience
  • Experience in Field support
  • Ability to effectively communicate, present and articulate strategies across various audiences; sales, marketing, partners, clients, consultants, executive leaders (internal and external)

  • Ability to uphold the stress of traveling
  • Regular, predictable attendance is required; including quarter-driven hours as business demands dictate.
