The IT Service Desk Technician will manage day-to-day service desk operations for a wide breadth of support services. This includes resolving desktop computer issues and providing users with support of both software and hardware needs. Responsibilities include the installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and repair of all computing equipment providing full computer software installation and configuration. The technician will assist with documentation, deliver formal and informal training to end users and assist in educating users on the functions of installed general office applications, operating systems, mobile devices and VOIP systems. They will also work with staff attorneys to prepare necessary media for trial. This role requires an expert in providing professional customer service. Provide Tier 1 support and escalate issues as appropriate, while tracking each issue to its resolution. Skills in Active Directory will be utilized performing password resets, managing permissions and data entry. Project work as assigned, will also fall under the responsibilities. This position will require openness to work overtime and weekend hours and be on-call, as it is needed. Position hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM.

Minimum and Additional Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree or Associate’s degree in computer science/information systems or related field and two years technical experience in computer system design, development, maintenance, management OR a high school diploma and six years of experience in computer system design, development, maintenance, and management.

Preferred Qualifications:

Proven and strong Windows 7 and Microsoft Office technical skills required. Ability to multi-task and handle multiple jobs, with constant interruptions and sometimes urgent situations; able to work in a high pressure environment. Expert customer service skills that could assist non-technical users in a professional and friendly manner. Understand and appreciate the needs of users in a legal environment; tact and sensitivity in dealing with a diverse user community. A strong team player with excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Highly detailed-oriented and have the ability to work independently. Must be prompt and responsible. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Must have a valid SC driver’s license.
