The Department of Technology Services (DTS) is looking for a talented back-end software developer to be an integral part of an exciting iOS and web-application development team.     Example of Duties

    Primary Duties:

  • Design back end, including databases, develop and maintain Java Web applications, Web Services, and APIs (consumption and publishing)

  • Research, architect, and develop effective configurations and features

  • Implement minor and major enhancements to existing Java Web applications and Web Services to accommodate agency needs

  • Commit, merge, build and deploy compiled code and database scripts for test environments

  • Troubleshoot issues and bugs, identify potential problems and recommend solutions

  • Effective testing of software, including good unit test coverage

  • Anticipate the impact that new or modified software may have on existing systems

  • Recommend feature enhancements to better meet customer needs

  • Help plan for reducing technical debt

  • Monitor and evaluate web applications and services, processes and/or practices for quality and effectiveness; make recommendations for improvement.

  • Typical Qualifications

    What We Look For:

  • Professional development experience with Java, MyBatis, SQL, SQLServer, Spring (MVC and Boot), JSON, AJAX, JDBC, ODBC, web services, REST APIs, Docker, AWS
  • Professional experience architecting and building new technical solutions
  • Professional experience with GitLab, JIRA, Jenkins, Artifactory
  • Experience anticipating the impact that designs may have on applications
  • Experience testing components, features, services, and end-to-end
  • Development experience with JavaScript, React, HTML, CSS
  • Ability to accept feedback from colleagues in an iterative process
  • Experience with SAML, YAML, OAuth, or OpenId a plus, but not required
  • Understanding of Responsive Designs a plus
