Investment Banking Associate

The Investment Banking Associate will work directly with the investment banking team on current and prospective engagements to bring clients to a successful close. Duties include contacting investors and lenders and companies, preparing investment teasers, managing the flow of data associated with all client engagements, and conducting due diligence. Client services include: M&A, capital raises, restructuring, etc. Duties may be carried out in the San Diego office or offsite.

Duties include, but are not limited to

• Participate in transactions from origination to closing including conducting due diligence
• Conduct industry research
• Prepare pitch books, reports, descriptive teasers
• Interact with clients and potential investors
• Maintain records, files and data related to client engagements
• Respond to requests for data, research, analyses, etc. as needed
• Work closely with senior professionals to oversee close

Required Skills

* Understanding of Finance

* Excellent interpersonal and communications skills

* Comfortable organizing, synthesizing, and presenting data to team members and/or clients

* Ability to quickly grasp understanding of client operations/processes/business objectives

* Ability to work under deadlines, prioritize and multi-task

* Appropriately handle confidential and sensitive information; Proven exemplary work ethic

* Ability to complete tasks with limited supervision

BA or BS degree in finance or business; 3.5+ GPA preferred

Experienced 2nd or 3rd year Associate with investment banking or M&A experience from major or boutique investment banks with high deal flow

Must either possess or be willing to obtain FINRA Series 7 or 79 or 82 , 63 within 90 days.

***Please note this is a commission only position. Although institutional investment bankers have very high income potential, you MUST be licensed to be paid commissions *** We will train the right candidate and sponsor for FINRA licenses. There is no base pay offered.
