About the Role

The DevOps Automation Engineer Intern will develop and enhance our Systems Engineering capabilities. You are a technically-oriented individual that thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced, Agile environment and passionate about creating solutions to support the development of high-quality and highly-available software. You have a background in Systems Engineering and scripting. Additionally, you will work within our IT Operations team and take part in designing and implementing new DevOps capabilities and enhancing our current ones. You will build and maintain continuous integration, configuration management and deployment automation capabilities. You will also design and implement solutions for increased resiliency, security and monitoring of deployed systems. Qualifications

About You

Systems Engineering experience supporting a variety of operating systems and infrastructure platforms

Experience building and deploying to AWS including the use of VPC, EC2, RDS, ELB, S3 ElasticBeanstalk

Experience implementing and supporting automation and configuration management tools such as Puppet or Chef

Experience supporting database management systems such as Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL or MariaDB

Experience with Red Hat, CentOS and Amazon Linux operating systems

Experience with scripting languages such as BASH, PHP, PERL, Python and PowerShell

Familiarity with agile/iterative methodologies (XP, SCRUM, etc.)

Working knowledge of VMWare vSphere 5.5 or above

Experience in clarifying objectives, dealing with ambiguity/under-defined problems, advocating for simplification and influencing teams

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Desire to take advantage of training and learning opportunities

Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced environment

Independent, self-starting attitude

Education Requirement

Currently seeking at least, a four-year college degree in CS, CIS, MIS or related discipline
