Interior Designer, Level 1

Katerra is a technology company transforming property development, design, and construction—from start to finish. We are building an entirely new kind of company that brings together expertise in design, technology, material sourcing, manufacturing, and construction as a single integrated offering.

With this unique approach, we have the opportunity to design and build beyond compromise. Beautiful, efficient, sustainable-we can do it all. The era of design concessions is over.

Founded in 2015, today we are a growing team of more than 200 employees globally. Located in Seattle, the Katerra Design office is home to our integrated team of architecture, interiors, industrial design, and engineering.

At Katerra, we lead from every seat. Our ideal team members are self-starters that embrace ambiguity, think big, and bring their own uncompromising standards of excellence.

INTERIOR DESIGNER, JUNIOR LEVEL

Katerra Design, located in Seattle, is seeking a talented, highly motivated Junior Level Interior Designer who can work independently and collaboratively with a diverse team. We are seeking a designer who is focused by challenge and can stay highly creative in a wide variety of situations—someone with proven ability to move forward under pressure, to work independently but ask for guidance when needed, and be excited to share knowledge with others. You should be comfortable with not knowing—but be driven to find answers. To thrive here, you must be passionate about design, be curious, and love the process of problem solving and iteration.

You will contribute to the team’s work designing projects. Daily tasks will vary widely, but will likely include assisting in the preparation of plans and drawings, design presentations, renderings, material selections, and specifications. But what Katerra uniquely offers is the chance to collaborate with the many minds in the office who bring their experience from outside the world of architecture – industrial design, engineering, construction, development, manufacturing, technology design, and beyond.

We are especially seeking designers with experience in multifamily housing, hospitality, corporate interiors, or retail/program management, but a willingness to learn is of primary importance.
